Priya Vasudev Mani Iyer is the real name if Priya. Professionally Priya credited as Priyamani. She is an Indian film actress and former model. Priya work in films of many languages such as Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Priya recipient of three Filmfare Awards and a National Award in different languages and she established a career in regional Indian films. Bangalore is the city in which Priya born and raised. Before pursuing a career in films, she worked as a model. She made her acting debut in the Telugu films by Evare Atagaadu(2003) with a leading role.

 Early Life

• Priyamani born to Vasudeva Mani Iyer and Latha Mani Iyer a Tamil speaking family. During her school years, she modelled for Kancheepuram Silks, Erode silks and Lakshmi silks.
• The famous Tamil film Director, Bharathiraja introduced her to the film industry when she was in the 12th standard.
• Priyamani’s mother, former national level badminton player and her father, who hails from Palakkad from a Tamil family owns plantation business, Lathamani who hails from Thiruvananthapuram was a bank manager at Union Bank of India.
• Vishakh is an elder brother of Priyamani and he is in the plantation business with her father when Priyamani is a student in the School, she actively participated in extracurricular activities and in sports.
• Carnatic Vocalist Kamala Kailas is the grandmother of Priyamani. She is the niece of playback singer Maludi Shubha and cousin of Indian film actress Vidya Balan.
• The Sri Aurobindo Memorial School at which Priyamani did her schooling and for complete her graduation she attended Bishop Cotton Women’s college in JC road.
• When schooling is complete she starts modelling for the print advertisement. Through correspondence, Priya pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Arts in psychology currently.
• Priyamani married with an event organizer Mustafa Raj in a private ceremony on 23 August 2017.

Career

• A Telugu film Evars Atagaadu by which Priyamani made her debut in Telugu films and then with Sathyam Malayalam film industry.
• But Malayalam film performed poorly at the box office. After all that Balu Mahendra a Tamil film director and cinematographer signed Priyamani to act in the 2005 drama Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam.
• Babith said “Priyamani has come up with an excellent performance before the releasing of the movie but the result was something opposite the Oru Kana Kaalam was critically acclaimed but failed on the box office.

• During the same year, with S. S. Rajamoulli directed fantasy action comedy film Yamadonga she achieved a commercial success in Telugu cinema
• In 2008 for her role in the Malayalam film Thirakkatha, she again received critical acclaim. In this film, her role is based on the real-life story of late film actress Srividya.
