Abi Mehdhi Hassan is an Indian actor and assistant director of the South Indian film Industry. He is popularly known for being the son of famous South Indian Actor Nassar. Recently he made his debut in 2019 film “Kadaram Kondan” as a lead actor “Vasu Rajagopalan” opposite Akshara Hassan.© ibollynews

Nassar is a well-known and established Indian film actor, producer, Director, Dubbing Artist and Playback Singer. Some of Nassar’s greatest performances include “Velaikaran”, “Vanna Kanavugal”, “Kavithai Paada Neramillai”, “Nayakan”, “Roja”, “Bombay”, “Iruvar” etc. His mother Kameela Nassar is a producer turned politician. Early Life and Career:
Abi Hassan made his debut as a child in the year 2012, in “Sun Sun Thatha”, written and directed by his father Nassar. After that he became passionate about acting and did not even wait to end his education. Initially he was hesitant to tell his father about his acting ambitions. He got several offers, but wasn’t too convinced to accept any of it. To know the intricacies of filmmaking he joined as an assistant director to Atlee Kumar in the movie “Mersal”. It was a lovely, and knowledgeable experience for him. He also confessed that after “Mersal” for eight months he didn’t get any work.
Until, He got a call from Raaj Kamal International, and came to know that he is shortlisted for auditioning in the lead role for their next movie. He gave audition, and bagged the role opposite Akshara Hassan in the movie “Kadaram Kondan”, which released in 2019.© ibollyn ews

- When he was working as an assistant director in the movie “Mersal” he only got 10k per month as salary. In an interview he revealed-
“I only had an actor’s perspective of what films were until Mersal happened. But when you’re an assistant director on a salary of ₹10,000 per month, and when, sometimes you may not get the daily allowances after a hard day’s work… (Sighs)… that’s when you realize how hard people have it in the film industry. I learnt those things.”
- According to him he didn’t get the opportunity in his debut film on his father’s recommendation. There were other actors who were approached, and he had to want through a series of auditions and workshops to ultimately bag the role. He is not interested in taking advantage of his privileged, he want to become successful on his own.© ibollynews
- His father was shocked when he first revealed to him his desire of becoming an actor. But after joining BOFTA he was convinced that Abi is serious.
