Bebe Rexha was born on August 30, 1989, in Brooklyn, New York, to Albanian parents. Rexha’s father, Flamur Rexha, an Albanian born in Debar when it was Yugoslavian, emigrated to the US at the age of 21, and her mother, Bukurije Rexha, was born in the US.

Daughter of Albanian parents, her father FlamurRexha and mother BukurijeRexha named Bebe as “Bleta”. As per the Albanian language, blete means “bee”.
Bleta being an enthusiast in a Musical instrument from an early age, played trumpet and also self-learned guitar and piano herself. Graduated from Tottenville high school on Staten Island Rexha took an active participation in a variety of musicals. Having a great musical influence in Coldplay, the Cranberries, Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morissette, and Kanye West BebeconsidersTracy Chapman and Bob Marley as her favorite musicians.
